Step 1: Open the app store on your phone. It could be the App Store or Google Play Store. Find the icon that looks like a shopping bag with a large letter “A” on it.
Step 2: In the search field at the top of the app store, type "Google Maps" and tap search. The first result should be the Google Maps app. You will see on it a very colourful pin icon with an "G" on it.
Step 3: Tap the Google Maps app to open its page, and then tap the “Install” button. This will begin downloading the app. You’ll see a bar slowly filling up as it downloads to your phone.
Step 2: You can sign in (or create an account if you don’t have one) using your Google account. This is optional, but if you’re signed in, you can save your favorite places and access your search history.
Step 3: You’re all set up! Now scroll through the pane and type the name of the place into the search box at the top, tap a place, zoom in and zoom out on the map with your fingers, and get directions by tapping the blue "Directions" button.
